Xtended Powersports – FAQ

What vehicles are covered under the Xtended Powersport program?
• On-Road Motorcycle
• ATV
• Off-Road Motorcycle
• Utility Vehicle
• Snowmobile
• Scooter
• Personal Watercraft*
* Personal Watercraft means a recreational watercraft that: (1) is intended to be operated with the person (s) sitting, standing or kneeling (rather than the person (s) being within or inside the confines of a hull, as in a boat) and (2) primarily moves through the water by the user of an inboard, internal combustion engine powering a water jet pump.
Does the Xtended Powersport program need to be sold at the same time as the unit?
No. Xtended Powersport offers a Post Sale program that allows your customers to purchase coverage after the time of sale of the unit. This allows you to offer coverage to your customers as their manufacturer warranty is expiring or when they visit your service department for repairs. As long as the unit is eligible for Xtended Powersport coverage, you can utilize the Post Sale Program.
Is there an additional cost for the Post Sale Program?
If the vehicle is classified as “New”, then there is no additional cost. Vehicles that qualify as “Used” do attract a small surcharge. This will be added to the contract cost when you identify that the vehicle purchase date is prior to the contract purchase date when generating a contract on the Xtended Powersport portal.
Does the Post Sale program require an inspection?
No, there is no special inspection required for the post-sale program. However, we do suggest that all dealerships do an in house inspection on the unit prior to selling any post sale contracts as pre-existing conditions will not be covered.
What classifies a new unit?
A new unit is any unit that has at least 30 days of full manufacturer’s warranty remaining.
What is the Xtended Powersport claims limit?
The total limit that will be covered per claim is the value of the vehicle immediately prior to mechanical failure. The total aggregate claims limit that will be paid out for the duration of your coverage is the purchase price of the unit.
Is there a deductible?
Yes, New vehicle terms have a $0 deductible, with Used vehicle terms having a $50 deductible, unless the buy down option is purchased.
Are commercial vehicles eligible for coverage?
Yes, we do have coverage options for units used for non-personal use such as rental, shuttle, military, ‑re, police, route work or any “for hire” business.
Is there trailer coverage options?
Yes. There is coverage for the following components of a trailer carrying an approved vehicle:
Brake Components: master cylinder, hydraulic brake actuator and backing plates
Frame Components: axle(s), brackets, bunks, couplers, fenders, hubs, roller cradles, spring hangers, welds and winch stands
Suspension Components: springs
When do the terms start?
New: Term starts after the factory warranty has expired
Used: Term starts on the date of sale of the contract
Post Sale: Term starts on the date of sale of the contract with a 30 day waiting period for claims
